Waking up in NYC~

As I awoke with no recollection as to who I was or what I was, I rose to my feet. It seemed to be a day transcending into night. All things happened at night, well most of them did anyway. I looked around with a puzzled look expressed on my face and suddenly a pain hit my head hard. The pang of it throbbed and it felt like someone was splitting into my skull. I feared speaking and calling out for what if this was trap? I had to be careful. I started to walk slowly from the spot of which where I did lay, and looked about. This place was so grand and venturous that even someone of my wits of places could get lost. I thought that I did know my way around but this was a whole new world to me. Then I muttered the bravery to speak:

"Hm? Hello? Is anyone out there? Hello? I seem to be lost, where am I?" My innocent voice called out and my head twisted and turned to look for my savior, the light that would guide me in this deepening dark. I always loved the moon but tonight it was ominous. I was mystery within myself. I did not know what I was, or how I got here, or even where I came from. A complete state of amnesia swept over me, and I ran away with the sea and its current. I was hoping someone would find me and lead me back to civilization, but to no avail, no one was here. It was barren and cold, I needed to find shelter. I felt no presence near me to warm me of my gradually turning cold blood. Now, where to go?

After a few hours a young man walked up to the strange women, "Hello miss, are you okay? you seam lost?" he said his golden blond hair was rufled by the wind. "She seams interesting...I wonder who she is.." he thought to himself as he wondered.

'Oh a boy. Maybe he knows where we are..'

I nodded my head and then spoke kindly to the boy after becoming a little startled by his sudden approach. Normally I would have a distaste, a natural dislike for this male gender, and I did not know why, but he seemed nice. And because of that dislike, one person, it did not mean I couldn't be friends with him.

"Actually yes, I do happen to be lost. I'm sorry to trouble you, can you point me the way to town maybe? Or, somewhere with people maybe?" I looked about once more and after a moment of silence passed by, I spoke once more, in a soft tone.

"What's your name? I'm Artemis by the way." ^^ A smile.

Mark smiled, "well thta is a beutifull name, mine would be Mark." He said "And if you would like i will even be your guide, because this can be a hard place to navigate." he said after a pause with a small grin on his face. "Wow she is beautiful...I wonder how it is she got lost.." he thought to himself.

A red glow overcomes the area briefly, crackling of fire heard as a small, dark and misty river forms nearby, a lone boat gently drifting towards the 'shore'. As it finally hits shore, rocking slowly with the impact, two figures could be seen, one a man with black hair and wearing a cloak, the other one had his back turned to Artemis and Mark.

That'll be a gold coin, guv'nor Mutters the unseen figure drunkenly,
I'm not a lost soul, Charon, you silly git. Replies Hades, rising from his seat as Charon drunkenly lunges at him, grabbing his legs and sending them both toppling into the water, coming up moments later gasping for air.
C'mon now, y' don' know what it's like bein' a ferryman, we haf' te' sail around all day and get no free time to ourselves. Groans Charon, climbing back into his boat,
Maybe that water'll sober you up a bit. Hades replies, throwing off his cloak to reveal his shirt and jeans, now soaked due to the water as he climbs up onto dry land.

I stood there thinking a while on what this boy has said to me. He was kind, and his name is Mark, what a nice name. That thought crossed my mind and then I spoke replying to his comment.

"Well thank you Mark. That is a nice name, and I would love to be escorted by you. Thanks, you know, you're really kind." Another smile adorned my face and I walked off with him. However I did have this pit feeling in my gut, something I sensed in the back of my mind, that something near was amiss.
